Whether you believe it or not, gratitude can improve your life.
When you think about gratitude, you think about appreciating life.
You think about appreciating the people you are close with.
You think about noticing the little things surrounding you.
You acknowledge and appreciate what you have right now than what you can have.
You think about counting the blessings you were given.
I didn’t see this.
I used to wake up in the morning with a weary body and tired mind. I always feel complain and overthink that the rest of my day would be a bad day. I get tired of hearing my landlady scolding the people who failed to pay their rents every morning.
When I am on my way to work, I used to complain about having to walk in the park because I might step on a dog or bird poop. I don’t like hearing babies crying because I go weak when I hear it. I don’t like to see lovers sitting and kissing on a bench. It only reminds me of how single I am. LOL
When I’m on my desk, I quietly complain about my job, boss and co-workers who were very toxic. They were filled with gossip and drama in the office. I thought about my mom who was living far away and thought about her. I always thought that I’d rather be on the office hearing gossips than hearing my mom nag the whole day.
I used to avoid a few of my friends only when it comes to hanging out to clubs. I only go when it comes to events. I occasionally drink. I hardly enjoy when it comes to events such as Christmas, Halloween or Valentines Day. (ugh!) LOL
I never thought that I needed to be grateful. It’s more than that.
Here are 7 ways gratitude can improve your life:
1.) Gratitude makes relationships better.
Your relationship with your partner, family, and friends even to yourself. Saying a simple “thank you” can help you deepen your relationship and connect better with people and they will always remember you for it. You can thank someone whether big or little things they have done for you. You can always send them a handwritten card, text message or small gift. Don’t forget to smile at anyone. They will definitely never forget you for it!

2.) Gratitude makes you feel happy.
You’ll start to feel grateful for all that you have right now, you’ll begin to accept yourself and make yourself feel happy. It will help lower your high expectations of wants and needs. You will start to enjoy your life and love yourself more.
You will feel more optimistic in life. You see things differently although there are still things that make you feel bad. However, you will start to feel more light and positive when dealing with any bad situations.

3.) Gratitude gives you peace of mind.
It will likely increase the positivity in life. You will start to recognize and may receive good treatment from people that care about you which will enhance your reduce your negative thinking. This will make you more humble as you wouldn’t want to expect certain things out of your life.
4.) Gratitude can give you better sleep.
With gratitude, you can be able to sleep better at night because your stress levels are low and at the same time, you wouldn’t be sleeping with any worry thoughts.
Practice writing with a worry journal which will help you sleep better. You write the things you are worried about in your everyday life. With each passing days or weeks when you continuously practice gratitude, you will start to feel your body light and feel more sleepy during night times than how it was before.
5.) Gratitude boosts your confidence.
With gratitude, you will start to exercise more. You will also start to decide and eat healthier options than you used to. It can definitely help you to make more positive choices such as taking better care of yourself and develop a positive mindset which in turn will boost your confidence.
6.) Gratitude lowers the risk of anxiety and depression.
It will also help shift your focus from the pain you felt from any experience you had encountered. It will help you feel grateful not for what happened but for the lessons you have learned from the experience. You will also learn to appreciate other people which will break your barrier for isolation. It helps you start to care for the people around you, which in turn, they will also care for you so you won’t feel unsupported and alone.
7.) Gratitude lowers stress and anger levels.
It can help distract you from your worries and upsets as well as anger or resentment. It can definitely help shift your focus from your problems into solutions and will likely make you happy and feel less stress. This could be helpful when you experience stress and anger in your work environment. It can help lower your stress levels and depression when start being grateful in your surroundings and the people around it.
Start telling them that you are grateful for them being there with you during meetings, break time or lunch hours. Leave positive or encouraging notes in their desks. You can even greet them with a warm smile and welcome.

Now, I wake up in the morning but I start feeling grateful for living even with a weary body and tired mind. I would stop thinking about the rest of my day and what could happen to me. I start to greet mornings when I see my landlady while she’s scolding the people who failed to pay their rents every morning.
When I am on my way to work, I just start smiling and feeling positive when I walk in the park not worrying too much if I might step on a dog or bird poop. When I hear babies crying, I may go weak and may even approach just to comfort it. When I see lovers sitting and kissing on a bench, it reminds me of how love should suppose to be.
When I’m on my desk, I am thankful for my job, boss and co-workers even though they are still toxic. The environment might be filled with gossip and drama in the office but I just start to throw in more positive just to balance it.
I thought about my mom who was living far away and thought about her. I always thought that I’d rather be with her and if I hear her nag, I’m just glad that she’s alive and be there for me both good and bad times.
I start to hang out with a few of my friends only but I had set boundaries and places that we could go which they would also agree. I still occasionally drink. I start to enjoy when it comes to events such as Christmas, Halloween or Valentines Day even if there are times when I am alone.
